How to Cite your Sources...
English and history are not the only subjects in which research is conducted. When writing reports or scholarly journal articles, scientists cite their sources (research) just as a journalist or historian would in their papers. This used to be a difficult task as the formatting of the source was confusing and had to be looked up in a book (Mr. Rott had to do this as a student, not fun). Additionally, there are multiple different types of formats for citing your sources. Ultimately, what is important, is that you cite your sources for work that is not yours originally. This page has been created to give you helpful information for how to cite your sources.
Of the many formats for citing sources, science typically uses APA format. Mr. Rott suggests using OSLIS, a free online citation source that will often do most of the work for you, to create you APA citations. Within Google Documents, sources can also be cited quickly and automatically within the document. Some assignments will specifically ask you to cite your sources; please do so. |
