Tuna is an marine fish that has multiple different species ranging in size from 5 to 1500 lbs!
While it may seem impossible that a single type of fish is so important to the survival of the oceans, tuna is just that species. It is an active predator that has become popular as a human food staple (think sushi) around the world. Unfortunately its' popularity has led to over fishing in many parts of the world and the disappearance of Tuna is causing problems for many other marine organisms.
What happens if there is no more tuna in the ocean?
Students will create a plan that will be presented to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and an argument to convince for the need and ecosystem importance of fishing regulations.
